How did you attract/address
your audience?
Characters
I think the audience may find the action
between characters (during stalking scene) as
it’s the climax of the film. With our film
includes both genders I think it could attract
the audience of a different gender because
actor/actress might appear attractive to a
certain watcher.
As our target audience is for teens-young
adults the audience will be able to relate our
main character (Tabitha) as she’s round the
same age with the same hobbies e.g.
partying, drinking.
Setting
We chose to film our first shots in a studio
because if offered a pitch black surrounding
with a spotlight just on our protagonist. This
made our scene the darkest it could be and
really meant we could experiment with light to
create the effect that we wanted.
The later scenes were shot in a house because
the idea was to create a party scene and using
somebody’s house was the most obvious
location as this is where our audience would
associate parties with. It was also important
that we shot this footage at night as we wanted
our audience to sense contrast between the
bright party atmosphere and the cold and dark
intimidating street where a sense of tension
and drama was our goal.
Soundtrack
The reason behind our soundtrack was to create
the atmosphere. When something bad was going
to happen we placed eerie sounds and music to
heighten the tension. This involved high pitched
and loud sudden noise. This kind of music flowed
in with the code and convention of our genera as
audience’s expected to hear this kind of music.
This contrasts against the loud fast tempo music
of the party scene which we then muffled in order
to give the audience a sense of how our
protagonist would be feeling in her head after
being drugged.
Titles
When coming to our titles I wanted our
text to be as sharp as possible nothing to
pretty or rounded something with a
sharpness to the lettering, keeping the
colouring to a black and white theme with
the only other colour being red to connote
blood. This was because we wanted it to
match the genre and not loose the
element of thriller.
The transitions of credit names came up in
‘blur’ this also connoted the feeling of
loosing sight after being drugged.
Cinematography
We used industry standard shot
expected of a film.
e.g.
• Medium
• Extreme close up
• Panning shots
• Blur to focus for the effect of
being drugged.

Attract audience

  • 1. How did you attract/address your audience?

  • 3. Setting We chose to film our first shots in a studio because if offered a pitch black surrounding with a spotlight just on our protagonist. This made our scene the darkest it could be and really meant we could experiment with light to create the effect that we wanted. The later scenes were shot in a house because the idea was to create a party scene and using somebody’s house was the most obvious location as this is where our audience would associate parties with. It was also important that we shot this footage at night as we wanted our audience to sense contrast between the bright party atmosphere and the cold and dark intimidating street where a sense of tension and drama was our goal.
  • 4. Soundtrack The reason behind our soundtrack was to create the atmosphere. When something bad was going to happen we placed eerie sounds and music to heighten the tension. This involved high pitched and loud sudden noise. This kind of music flowed in with the code and convention of our genera as audience’s expected to hear this kind of music. This contrasts against the loud fast tempo music of the party scene which we then muffled in order to give the audience a sense of how our protagonist would be feeling in her head after being drugged.
  • 5. Titles When coming to our titles I wanted our text to be as sharp as possible nothing to pretty or rounded something with a sharpness to the lettering, keeping the colouring to a black and white theme with the only other colour being red to connote blood. This was because we wanted it to match the genre and not loose the element of thriller. The transitions of credit names came up in ‘blur’ this also connoted the feeling of loosing sight after being drugged.
