Media technologies powerpoint
1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
2. The main media technologies that we used for our research: Google Images Youtube Internet Explorer Blogger
3. INTERNET EXPLORER ‘Internet Explorer’ is the internet browser that we used to research ideas for our trailer, poser and DVD cover. The internet is accessed by many people worldwide and enables everyone to surf the net for whatever they want to find.
4. YOUTUBE www.youtube.com We used ‘youtube’ for a lot of our research. This site enabled us to find many different horror film trailers that inspired us greatly. From watching a variety of clips, we could gather ideas and develop them in our trailer.
5. GOOGLE IMAGES http://www.google.co.uk/imghp?hl=en&tab=ii We used ‘Google Images’ mainly for research into horror posters and DVD covers that already exist, so that we could base our ideas on ones that we liked. It was a useful ‘tool’ as it includes millions of potential pictures for us to view worldwide.
6. BLOGGER www.blogger.com We used ‘Blogger’ as an excellent way to look at other peoples blogs and to also post our own blogs. As well as it being free, it’s really easy to use and is great when it comes to writing about our work and evaluating.
7. Construction of our trailer The first step in constructing our video was to record all the footage needed on a Sony hdr-fx7 video camera. We then used a USBcable to transfer the footage from the memory card to the computer When we first uploaded the footage we realised we had quite a lot of footage to cut down to roughly 2 minutes of the video. In order to do this we used AdobePremierPro and was able to create and edit our whole trailer using this software. We could also add effects such as extra lighting or changing the overall wash colour of the shots.
8. Construction of our poster and DVD cover The first step in constructing our Poster and DVD cover was to take photographs to use for both. We used a SLR camera to capture the images. We then used a USBcable to transfer the footage from the memory card to the computer. When we uploaded the photos we used the programme Adobe Photoshop to edit and arrange the photos how we wanted them to feature on our poster and DVD cover.
9. Evaluation Our evaluation consisted mostly by verbal feedback but we have uploaded all three of our products to ‘Blogger’ which makes it possible for them to see it all again without the need to be at the same computer as me. Overall the most frequent and helpful media technology used, other than the obvious of Adobe PremierPro and Photoshop to actually create the finished product, was the internet and in particular YouTube to help us in all the research we did.
