2. The Expendables (2010) was mainly produced
by Millennium Films, which is Avi Lerners
production company, it was distributed by
Lionsgate.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004) was produced by
MTV Films and distributed by Fox Searchlight.
3. The Expendables had a production budget of
$80 million.
Napoleon Dynamite had a production budget
of $400,000.
4. The Expendables grossed $274 million
worldwide.
Napoleon Dynamite grossed $46 million
worldwide.
5. Millennium Films had previously produced
‘Rambo’ in 2008, but has only produced one
other film so is not that popular.
MTV Films had previously produced the
Beavis and Butthead movie, the Jackass movie
and Zoolander so was popular for making
comedy films that were quite quirky.
6. The Expendables was produced by Avi Learners
production company Millennium Films whose
only other outputs were the big budget action film
‘Rambo’ and the indie comedy ‘King of
Comedy’, Rambo grossed well but The King of
Comedy was less well received by audiences.
Napoleon Dynamite was produced by MTV
Films, their other output includes the high budget
(and high grossing) Jackass Movie and their
highest budget film was ‘The Longest Yard’ which
cost $82 million but it grossed double that.
7. Avi Lerner has only produced two films, one
was an indie comedy and the other was a big
budget action film.
MTV Films normally produce films aimed at
teens like ‘Footloose’ and ‘Coach Carter’ but
they also make very low budget indie comedies
like ‘The Foot Fist Way’ which costed on
$79,000 and ‘Hustle and Flow’ which costed
$3.2 million to make.
8. Millennium Films normal target audience is
males between 21-45 as they normally make
testosterone fuelled action extravaganzas.
MTV Films normally aim their films at teens
like ‘Beavis and Butthead’ and the ‘Jackass
Movie’ both of which grossed highly this is
there usual output.
9. I think that MTV Films can easily claim to be
the more successful company, most of there
films normally make back double there budget
and there low budget films like Napoleon
Dynamite normally make millions. Avi
Lerner's films are normally more hit and
miss, both ‘Rambo’ and ‘The Expendables’
grossed a lot ,however, ‘The King of Comedy’
was less well received and did not make back
its budget.
