1. I have chosen ‘The Target’ as the name of my
magazine as an actual target symbol is associated
with the mod genre and this fits with the same
genre of my magazine.
The colour scheme that I have provisionally
chosen is red, white and blue. This is because it is
the traditional colours of the target but also the
colours of the Union Jack which also links into the
mod theme as they are stereotypically patriotic.
The main image will be on the right hand side of
the page to allow text space. It will be a side
profile of a featured artist. The use of the caption
having bold, coloured letters makes the artists
name stand out from the page to make the
reader notice the text.
In my featured box, I have included short, snappy
sentences to briefly explain to the reader what is
featured in the magazine, with a specific aim to
interest them. This also links into the large, bold
caption at the bottom of the page.
I have used targets as a bullet point type form to
stand out from the page. I have written Bar Code
information in them as if the readers notice the
targets they will notice the text as well.

2. Targets with page numbers in to stand
out and promptly allow the reader to
find a page in the magazine.
Contents list segregated into sections to
easily look under a category of what the
reader wishes to find.
Collage of images will assist the text to
show even more of what is included in the
magazine with the aim of catching the
readers attention.
Editors letter is used to make the
reader feel more included and to give a
more personal aspect to the magazine.
Also gives an implication of what it is in
the magazine and the work involved in
making the magazine.

3. Snappy, short quotations that are
‘juicy’ to show what’s in the
article as well as capturing the
attention of the reader.
Main image taking up the whole
left hand page as this shows who
the article focus’ on and
highlights the importance of
artist involved.
Q & A article to show information
and quotations from the artist.
Image of artist holding guitar to
emphasise musical influence
with clothing appropriate to
genre of the magazine.
