  • 1. 2008 Open House November 18th Ms. Cleek’s Fifth Grade Welcome Parents!  In the back of the room, there is a volunteer sheet for parent helpers. We need helpers for several occasions throughout the year.  Field Trips ( December 5th and April 19th)  Holiday Parties (October 31st and February 14th) Homework  Students will have some homework
  • 2. every night. The amount depends on how much they accomplish during class time.  Homework might consist of-  Math worksheets  Spelling worksheets  Reading assignments  Heath or Science worksheets  Social Studies worksheets Spelling  Every week the class will begin a new spelling list. Monday through Thursday the students will have different assignments with the words. On Fridays, there will be a test over these

  • 4.  Fun educational sites for kids  Resource sites for parents Reading Books  In class, there will always be a book that we will read as a whole.  Also, the students will be broken up into reading groups and read books with their group.  Some of the books that we’ll read are  Harris and Me by Gary Paulson  Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key  City of Ember  Bridge to Terebithia  The Phantom Tollbooth Class Rules
  • 5.  Respect others  This includes property, space, and opinion  Turn in work on time  When absent, you have 2 days for everyday that you miss to turn the work in Pictures!
