3. Mise En Scene
The anchorage image
on the left page of the
double page spread
shows the artist
wearing a black suit,
white shirt and tie,
representing him as
being professional. He is
also wearing sunglasses
which gives the
audience an image of a
superior persona.
4. Typography
The title of the article is in a
large, bold font to attract the
readers attention. ‘Kanye West’s’
is also in a larger font to let
readers know that it was written
by the artist himself, to reinforce
this ‘words Kanye West’ has been
printed next to ‘Vita’. Underneath
this is the introduction to the article which is in a black
font which is more sophisticated than the title. The
monochrome colour scheme connotates seriousness and
formality and compliments the black and white image.
5. Langauge
The song title of one of Kanye West’s number one singles
has been adapted to form a pun. 'The Good Life' has been
translated into Italian - 'La Dolce Vita'.
‘Kanye West’s’ and ‘words Kanye
West' suggests that it is Kanye himself
who has written the article, this
makes the article unique and makes a
bold statement as it would usually be
written by a journalist. This direct
mode of address is gives a more
informal register and establishes a
relationship with the reader.
