1. Typical Conventions That I Did Not Include - Typical horror/thriller trailers use
night time shots or shots that are
filmed in the dark. E.g. Dark
abandoned houses. Dark scenes
were found in the majority of
trailers I watched. Evidently most
shots for horror films are dark with
aspects of low light from torches.
This is something I did not want to
do., therefore I decided not use this
typical conventions and challenge
it.
2. PARANOIA – Conventions Unlike Other Trailers Evidently from the on set to the end
the shots which make up my trailer are
all filmed out doors in broad day light.
This aspect shows my trailer challenges
typical conventions of other media
products. This convention may not
work as well In comparison to other
horror or thriller genre products that
include night time or dark shots.
Although I believe my trailer doesn’t
need to include these types of shots.
The shots within my trailer create
enough tension and suspense in
daylight.
