Bad angle use. They have tried to do this
scene using POV however it failed because it
was doing from over the shoulder instead as
you could see in the second picture.
The clip was to short
for an open sequence.
Plot was to cliché
including a stalker.
The tone of the voice
over doesn’t match the
clip. This causes
problems for the
audience to figure what
genre it is.

5. Gelsomina De Lucia – Bad Example.
There is jumpy editing
cuttings throughout. For
example, between the time
of 00:42-: 0045. This creates
a sense that the camera is
shaking. They could have
stops filming at 00:42 then
proceed that whole
sections as one giving the
scene a sense of continuity.
Bad Acting throughout the
clip. The female kept on
looking at the camera and
smiling which made the clip
lose its sense of tension
which the music was giving.

There was no mention of
credits at all throughout
the clip. There was only
the production company
and the title of the
opening sequence which I
felt that a different font
could have been used. It
seems too western for a
thriller.

In this first scene it was evident
that no tripod had been used
when it should have. As a
consequence the whole scene
was shaky. Also their facial
expressions were not taken
seriously as their was laughing
instead of crying. To make this
better there should be more
CAM SAMC as it did lack in this
and I think they should of used
a special effect to fit the misen-scene of the graveyard.
In this scene again the camera
was shaky when it didn’t need
to be. There was no panning
to show the characters
walking which is what they
should improve on. Most
angles used (mid-shot) was
used constantly and lacked
variation. Also, the characters
are portrayed to be smoking
which for their age is illegal
and didn’t think there was any
purpose of it in the plot.
Title was very cliché. There did
not seem to be much thought
into the title. Also the non
diegetic score music used was
not creative and took most of
the focus and did not fit the
theme of the suicidal storyline.

In this part a cutaway is used to see what
both characters are doing in the same time.
Good use of Foley to make the
sound more realistic for the
audience as the character shaves.
This scene has a variety of angle used which is added with a
close for the audience to see a specific detail of the mise-enscene including the make up and costumes.

10. Gelsomina De Lucia – Good Example.
The cutaway throughout the
clip (shown in the first two
screen shots) to the children
to the car created a sense of
tension and let the audience
opened minded to their own
ideas. This carried on right
until the very end as the
there are many theories as
to what can happen next.
The score non diegetic
music created a sense of
anticipation through the
clip which went nicely
with the genre of the clip
which is inevitably horror.
The use of effect in making the
boy disappear added to that
layer of fear which as been
running throughout the clip. It
fitted in within the horror
genre and there was an
enigma which was created.

The close up on the screenshot
is shown very clearly and use of
effects invites audiences in. The
mis-en-scene is effective and
the black emphasises
seriousness which is further
highlighted through their facial
expressions. The shallow focus
used in this frame concentrates
on the character with the
predominant aggressive
expression.
The POV shown indicates the
storyline and with the use misen-scene establishes the age,
gender and regional identity of
the characters. There was no
shaking of the camera unless
when it was used for purpose.
The title was not complex and
fitted the genre. The use of
effects used to create the title
was impressive. The score music
used throughout was fast pace
had a massive impact on the
action genre. The only
improvement I would suggest is
the acting could be improved on
as there was delayed acting and
the use of masks which is an over
used convention.
