1. We can follow some verbs either -ing or to+infinitive, but with a
difference in meaning:
I stopped to visit my friends.
(I stopped doing something else in
order to visit someone)
I stopped visiting my friends.
(I stopped doing domething)
She started working in a factory,
but she didn't like it.
(She experimented with something)
She started to work in that factory,
but it was hard.
(She made a serious effort. She
really wanted to do something, but
didn't succeeed)
They consider finishing the
class.
(They have the memory now of a
past action)
Considering to finish the class.
(Don't forget to do something)
