WEEKS OF SEPTEMBER 21 AND 28, 2009
1. Welcome Back: We hope your summer vacation was enjoyable! It’s now a fleeting memory…
2. News for you: “The Signal” will be published every other week throughout the school year. It’s
our way of keeping you up-to-date about Signal Hill “happenings.” Watch for it
on our school web page too.
3. Many Thanks: To the many PTA volunteers who worked throughout September to help us have
a smooth opening to school. Your help is always appreciated.
4. This Week: Our “Meet the Teacher Night” for Kindergarten through Grade 2 is tomorrow, Tues.,
Sept. 22, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Parents only please; we do not have supervision for students.
5. Important #1: Arrival time is 9:10 a.m. Students arriving after 9:15 a.m. must be checked in at the
attendance office and will be marked late.
6. Important #2: Dismissal time is at 3:20 p.m. We will call for pick-ups to go to the gym around 3:15
p.m. Students picked up before 3:15 p.m. will be marked as early dismissal.
7. PTA News: The next PTA Meeting is Wednesday Oct. 7th at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
The PTA Back to School “Family Picnic” is on Fri., Sept. 25, 5 to 7 p.m. on the playground
The PTA Car Wash in support of our 5th grade is on Saturday, Sept. 26,
9 a.m. till 12 noon, in the bus circle.
The Gift Wrap Sale continues throughout this month. Extra forms are in the office.
8. Mark your calendars: Photo Day is Tuesday, Oct. 6th. Watch for more details coming soon.
