Projects
Sustainable Design Engineers is a civil design
firm located in San Francisco. The firm is
focused on providing synergies between the GREEN BUILDING DESIGN
built environment and the natural environment. WATER RESOURCE ENGINEERING

In addition to the projects in California, Oregon and Arizona that we have contributed to, we
have international project ties in British Columbia, Canada and the Atacama Region in Northern
Chile. Our staff includes registered civil engineers, LEED accredited professionals, bilingual
speakers and global citizens working towards a cleaner and sustainable future.

Clark Kerr Campus, University of Berkeley
Berkeley, California EDUCATIONAL
This historic property had a 100-year old water system COMMERCIAL
replacement. Collected archived information, modeled RESIDENTIAL
the existing and proposed systems, and integrated the SITE PLANNING

Our work involved the assessment of existing RESORTS
infrastructure, the design of new wet and dry utilities, TOWNS
and the resolution of accessibility (ADA) issues. COMMUNITIES

Emeryville, California Sustainable Site Layout
Project management for this new construction building Water Management
that incorporated numerous green elements such as: Stormwater Management

Ignacio Creek Restoration
WATERSHEDS
Novato, California
Planned and executed a geomorphologic design for WATER SUPPLY
the ecological restoration of the 3500 linear feet of CREEKS
creek bed, banks and flood plain. Improvements LAKES/PONDS
included the removal of culverts, bridge scour WETLANDS
protection and bank full creek bed with ripples and
pools.

We prepared a conceptual design depicting a flagship Geomorphology

SDE developed an ecologically based analysis of an Fish Passages

This downtown revitalization project consists of
