3. Andy’s Background
Andy Clark comes from York in the UK and has
worked in China since 2000 as ClarkMorgan’s
business developer, University lecturer, IELTS
examiner and corporate trainer.
After working in the UK entertainments industry
in 1996, Andy embarked on his Masters in
Business Management at St. Andrews University
in Scotland. To gain international experience he
spent 1998/9 at the University of Illinois,
Champagne Urbana. He stayed on in America to
further his understanding of learning and self
development through taking the NLP (Neuro
Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and Master
Practitioner trainings back to back.
In China Andy’s career began as a lecturer giving
courses in Marketing and E-commerce at Jiao
Tong University and LiXin Accounting Institute.
Through qualifying and working as an IELTS
examiner he was able to develop his
understanding of local Chinese language
development needs.

Since 2000, Andy has been building powerful,
effective trainings for corporate clients, chambers of
commerce and individuals from all over the world.
As one of ClarkMorgan’s original team leaders Andy
launched the Beijing office in 2003 and Guangzhou
office in 2005. Andy was the National HR Director,
supporting a team of 105 staff across Mainland
China.

9. Client Case Studies
• Intensive Business Writing – Departmental heads are
required to communicate by using e-mails and reports to
ensure the continuing quality of service provided by the
hotels. Staff were trained to build structure, persuasion
and clarity into their writing skills.
• Advanced Presentation Skills for Leaders – Team
leaders at NSN need to deliver professional and persuasive
presentations to convince senior managers to allocate
budget and resources to their projects. We learned to
create an emotional wave in our presentations and deliver
language that can impact their audience.
• Presenting to an Audience of 4000 – Walmart China’s
board of directors was required to deliver 10 minute
presentations at their YBM (Year Beginning Meeting). The
training included maximising voice, body language and
delivering impactful language.
• Train the Trainer – Managers throughout M&W Group
are required to pass their expert knowledge to colleagues
through short training sessions. These sessions have been
quite hit and miss and were usually quite dull. By injecting
energy, activities, NLP techniques and real cases, we were
able to give their trainings a significant boost.
