    • We chew on them
    • Used them our first time writing cursive
    • The pencil is over 400 years old
    • Pencils are made of Graphite not lead

    • More than 14 Billions pencils are produced in the world yearly
    • 2 billion of these are made in the U.S
    • Yes, there is a No.1 pencil
    • 75% of the pencils sold in U.S. are yellow
    • Pencils in Europe have no erasers

    • A pencil will write in zero gravity,
    • upside down, and under water!
    • A pencil can write 45,000 words!
    • The hexagonal shaped so pencil won’t roll off the desk
