2. Music In Venezuela, the main instrument they use is the cuatro. There are five major genres that are played and listened to. They are: Joropo, which is the traditional music of Venezuela. Dances such as the salsa and merengue are danced to these songs. Folk, such as the GaitaZuliana, are mostly played during Christmas time. Pop/Rock, these songs have become more and more popular. Caribbean, major latin pop groups play this genre. Classical, there are many classical composers from Venezuela that are known world wide.
3. Sports There are two major sports that are popular in Venezuela: Baseball The first Venezuelan Professional Baseball league was created in 1945. In the 1940s, the national team won the Baseball World Cup several times. Luis Aparicio is the first Venezuelan to be inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in New York. Football: The FederaciónVenezolana de Fútbol was created in 1926. Football started much slower than baseball. Venezuela has not made an appearance in the FIFA World Cup, however they are continually improving.
