        – In 2008 Belgian online customers bought for 1.3 billion euro online


 •    2009
        – In 2009 the Belgian online customer bought for 1.6 billion euro online
          worldwide. Approximately 50% of their online purchases are done in Belgian e-
          shops

      Remarks on figures:
 •    These figures do not take into account online music websites such as iTunes or
      online orders paid for in "real" stores.

 •    Travel, electronics, cultural products (DVDs, CDs, books, concert and cinema
      tickets, etc.) remain the most popular products and services with online buyers. The
      growth came largely from the diversification in the players in the sector“.

 •    Despite this diversification, the range of goods offered on Belgian eCommerce
      websites is still too small. This is why 50% of consumers are still buying from
      overseas centers.

 •    Although it is undergoing constant growth, Belgium still lags behind its neighbors.

The growth came largely from the diversification in the players in the sector“. • Despite this diversification, the range of goods offered on Belgian eCommerce websites is still too small.
