Source: ICT & Ageing, European Study on Users, Markets and Technologies, Final report , January 2010 www.ict-ageing.eu
Apparentemente sembra esserci spazio per un'opportunità
'win-win-win', in cui:
>i bisogni delle persone anziane sono soddisfatte
incrementando la qualità della vita
>i costi dell’assistenza/sostegno possono essere
drasticamente
occupazione.

La strada verso lo Smarter Care
Source: Telecare Ready: Creating a universal entitlement to telecare, James Lloyd, June 2011, www.strategicsociety.org.uk
Il Department of Health inglese ha definito il telecare come “as
much about the philosophy of dignity and independence
as it is about equipment and services”.

Fattori cruciali
Source: Telecare Ready: Creating a universal entitlement to telecare, James Lloyd, June 2011, www.strategicsociety.org.uk

Gestire dati complessi
Total reading captured in the project:
238,965
Details:
Sensor Type Total Readings
CO2 69272
Temp 50621
Humidity 35441
Light 31466
Water 19831
CO 17931
Smoke 8804
Methane 5599
Comments:
These are the total readings from our home sensor system in
a seamless flow lasted for more than 8 months
The more reading related to a value depends on the variations
of the value (CO2 very variable, methane less variable)

Combattere i falsi positivi e ottenere altre informazioni
Total alerts:
541
Danger alerts: 0
Auto diagnosed false positive: 413
Keep under control: 128
Comments:
These are the total alert, i.e. when a value was under or above
the -/+ pre- set values.
We had no danger alerts (a value so low/high for such a long
time to cause a danger alert)
We had what we define as “recurrent” alerts, that then by
themselves turned to be false positive.
We had 128 situation that needed an “under control” status
that then turned to be also false positive.
These type of situations tells us anyway a lot of important
information:
We detected up to 34-36°
centrigrades as highest value
We detected CO2 high value
in correspondance of more
people in the same room
(compared to usual inhabitants)
Aging forget to drink:
this alert can be used to
reduce the risk of
dehidratation in

Aging gets lonely: this
alert can be used to
know when people is
visiting

The graph shows a
correlation between the
home occupant's sleep
pattern, their daily routine
and the safe level of
carbon monoxide (CO)
within their home.
Having regular
scheduled meals prove
that the user is active
and in
good and healthy
shape; He/she shows
no loss of appetite.
A missing reading or an
irregular behaviour can
show potential stomach
diseases or digestive
distrubances
The CO level is very low
and stable while the
person is asleep and
there is little or no activity
in the home.
The level of CO noticeably
rises when the person
wakes up and uses the
kitchen for breakfast.
The level drop again and
rises around noon for lunch.
The pattern is then repeated
in the evening.

CO then fall back to the very low level again
once the occupant goes to bed at night.
