Is thereany standard for the offshore windindustrytoday ?
Somemightsaythere is, but not anyonethatreally adresses the difficultiesfaced on a offshreo turbine, in case of an emergency. If onegetsill, his team mate has to beable to assist in the first , critical time. He has to evacuatehim, or stabilizehim…
In the past , we developeda lot of company specific courses, in corporation with the clientsHSE departments. Our courses consist of a selection of training disciplines which can be put together according to your needs. The training disciplines are divided into basic and specialist courses, but can be interchanged to fit your needs
November 2009 weinvitedvariouscompanies from the industry to a workshop in Esbjerg. The goalwas to find a commenbasicsafety standard. Amongst the delegates wererepresentatives from Vestas, Dong, Siemens, Suzlon, Statkraft, Statoil and manyothers.Security is not a competitive factor , was the commen approach
In mit2010 GWO wasfounded, with the aim to produce and implement a regional and global standard for Basic safetytraining. In February 2012 the standard wasfinished, and arecurrentlybeingimplemented.Still somediscussionsgoing on, but EWEA took it in as ”industrybestpractice”. It is beingsupported by compainessuch as.:DONG – Vestas – E.on – Suzlon – Repower – Vatenfall – Fred. Olsen – Acciona - Gamesa. More willfollow in short time.
Falck Nutec had a role as advisorduring the making of the standard. Wedrew on the experiancewithin Falck Nutec and Falck… medics, doctors and others.Furthermorewe held a secreteryrole, non profit for almost 2 years
There is still a lot of challangesaheadwithin the segment.Whatweforeseewillcome in near future is thesecourses.Wewill offer ourexperiance and service in the development of the standards , also in the future..Otherchallanges is, thatsome national organizations in somecountriesarenowworking on theirown standard….- But having the support from some of the major players in the business, i think GWO will have a future as the standard.
