Who would be the audience for your media product?
This is Juber Ali. He is a 16 year old boy from South East London. He enjoys socialising, shopping,
and acts and dresses in a stereotypical girly way.
He is from a standard middle class family and is British Bangladeshi which is the same ethnicity of
the protagonist of our film “Operation Croak”.
He listens to mainstream rap music from the Hip-Hop genre and likes to listen to BBC Radio with
Tim Westwood.
He watches a reasonable amount of television, in particular shows featured on BBC Three and Sky
Movies Action which is a channel predominantly aimed at the young adult to adult audiences who's
favourite genre is the Action genre. His favourite TV show is 24 because it is exhilarating and the
plots involving the youth and ethnic minorities engages him.
He enjoys reading literature about his favoured music genres such as XXL magazine and his
favourite book series are the Bourne books.
His favourite films include Taken; Four Lions; The Bourne Ultimatum; Chronicles of Riddick; 300
and Rock n Rolla. He likes the films that feature deep character story, but also films that have epic
fight scenes and lots of suspense/tension. He visits the cinema often to see films in the Action
Thriller and Action-Comedy genres and also owns an extensive DVD collection of films from the
90's and 00's.
I think our film “Operation Croak” would appeal to Juber because he is an avid action fan who
loves to recreate memorable moments in films and TV shows. Because our film features a character
which is of an ethnic minority in a protagonist role who takes a hands-on approach. Juber would
likely admire this character and draws in more interest than it would do if the protagonist were
white or the genre were not predominantly action filled. He enjoys films of the same genre as ours
such as Taken and The Bourne Ultimatum which would imply that he will also enjoy ours.
