1. Spanish grammar
Where to put the stress:
1. With words that end in a vowel, or -n or -s: on the penultimate syllable.
2. With words that end with a consonant other than -n or -s: on the last syllable.
3. If it comes elsewhere it must be marked with a written accent.
When you're greeting a friend, say:
Hola, qué tal? / Hola, cómo estás?

If it is someone you know less well you could say:
