1. Keep this form on file – it tells you
how much federal income tax to
withhold from each paycheck
2. Ensure it is signed, dated & has a
correct Social Security Number
3. Withhold according to allowances
claimed & deduct additional
requests

Compensation
•Add your new employee to your
workers’ compensation plan—
it’s required by law
•It protects you from lawsuits if
the employee is injured or
becomes ill because of
workplace conditions
