The second floor of the library contains stacks A-PN2924, group study rooms, a library instruction classroom, reading rooms, and the future Faculty Development Center. The easiest ways to access the second floor are by taking the central staircase or using the elevator in the first floor reference area. Once on the second floor, books that can be checked out are shelved along the stacks from A to PN2924. There are also restrooms, a water fountain, and a quick-look up catalog kiosk located on this floor. Group study rooms and a library instruction classroom are available resources. Across from the stacks are two reading rooms and the future home of the Faculty Development Center.

Second floor
1. Second Floor
The easiest way to get to the second floor stacks is to take the central staircase and go past the
double doors. Or you may take the elevator in the first floor reference stack area.
The second floor has stacks A-PN2924, library instruction classroom, group study rooms,
reading rooms, and the Faculty Development Center.
2. As you get off the elevator on the second floor or enter through the double doors from the
staircase, this is the what you will see. Books that can be checked out are shelved on the
second and third floors of the library. The second floor has books with call numbers A-PN 2924.
Rest rooms and a water fountain can be found about half way down the stacks on the left. If
you are looking for a quiet study space, this is the floor!

3. Second Floor Stacks A-PN
Here is a view of the second floor stacks from the Student Center side. The circulating stacks begin here with
the As and continue down the room ending with the PNs. A water fountain and the rest rooms are on the
right. The elevator is straight ahead.

4. 4 Group Study Rooms 232, 233, 235, and 236 are available to students and can be booked
online from the Library Home Page. Here are rooms 235 and 236. If you get off the elevator,
take a right to get to these two study rooms.

Across from the elevator on the second floor is Group Study Room 233. Group Study
Room 232 is located on the other side of the second floor. When you get off the elevator,
proceed straight ahead pass Room 232 until you come to the DP stacks and you will see
the study room on your left.
6. Library Classroom
Library instruction classes are sometimes held in Room 242 on the second floor.
As you step off the elevator on the second floor you will see a sign for the library classroom on the HC
stacks . Proceed in the direction of the arrow until you come to another sign on the “P” stacks
pointing to the classroom. Room 242 is all the way at the back on the Fitch Street side. It has 19
computers, an instructor’s station, a projector, and a table and chairs to seat a total of 25 students.
7. Across from the second floor stacks is the future home of the Faculty Development Center.
There are two reading rooms, one on either side of the entrance to the FDC.
Classrooms 202-207 are beyond the class door. Down the hallway on the left is the Center for
Excellence on Autism Spectrum Disorders.

8. Stairs leading to the third floor

Two reading rooms are located on this floor. One is on the left just outside the entrance to the
Faculty Development Center, next to the staircase. The second is to the right of the staircase and is a
2-level room. A wooden spiral staircase leads to the reading room on the third floor. The fourth
Tiffany window from the Stonington Congregation Church is installed here.
