Saritsa Foundation is a mobile university that builds disaster risk reduction and climate change resilience through community education. It held a workshop for children and teachers at a junior high school in Fatehgarh cantonment, Uttar Pradesh, where students from disadvantaged families had no prior opportunity to learn emergency preparedness. The workshop was a success, with children and teachers participating enthusiastically and learning how to protect themselves from disasters. Practical demonstrations and mock drills were held on earthquakes and evacuation. Teachers were inspired by the workshop and committed to sharing what they learned with family and friends.

education and training has been a priority for Saritsa

worry to note that in Fatehgarh cantonment Junior High
School, Uttar Pradesh, there has been no opportunity to
the students to learn to protect in emergencies of
disasters who mostly belong to disadvantaged groups of
families. The issue of safety of children was a neglect
here.
The team of Saritsa Foundation organized a workshop
for these children on 9 February 2013. It was a good
beginning for the children who took part with keen
interest and enthusiasm. The teachers took part with
an urge to learn.
3. Children and teachers were motivated and they
confirmed that they shall pass on this education and
