Austin Journal of Aquaculture and Marine Biology is an open access, peer reviewed, scholarly journal dedicated to publish articles related to original and novel fundamental research in the field of Aquaculture and Marine Biology.
2. Aquaculture and Marine Biology
Aquaculture:
Aquaculture refers to the aquatic farming such as
fishes, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic plants
Aquaculture includes cultivating saltwater populations
and freshwater under restricted circumstances, and can be
contrasted with marketable fishing, i.e. harvesting of wild
fish.
Microbiology:
Microbiology deal with the learning of microscopic
organisms, such as bacteria, archaea, viruses, protozoa
and fungi.
This involves basic research on the physiology,
biochemistry, ecology, cell biology, clinical aspects and
evolution of microorganisms, including the host response
to these agents.

5. Aquaculture types
โข Marine/Brackishwater Aquaculture- Cultivating different
types of groups in the ocean.
โข A system 3Rโs
R- reduce
R-reuse
R-recycle of water is main aim in the recirculating aquaculture
systems and waste produced is suitable for marine species.
โข Marine aquaculture in the ocean (that is, suspended in the
water column, on the seafloor or in cages) or in on-land,
manmade systems such as ponds or tanks.
โข Species :- catla ,carp, magur, rohu, ornamental fish farming,
freshwater pearl culture and freshwater prawn
6. Aquaculture types
โข Freshwater aquaculture-It refers the production
of species that are native to rivers, lakes, and
streams. U.S. freshwater aquaculture is
dominated by catfish but also produces trout,
tilapia, and bass. Freshwater aquaculture takes
place primarily in ponds and in on-land,
manmade systems such as recirculating
aquaculture systems.
โข Brackish water aquaculture involves breeding of
fish that habitat the sea like sea bass, grey mullet,
tiger shrimp and mud crabs
