3. RESUME
• According to the results of the Sociological group
"Rating" research, 55% of the polled Ukrainians
followed the elections of the President of the United
States of America. Elections caused greater interest in
the West of the country (67%), less interest – in the East
(48%).
• Men, people of middle and senior age, people with
higher level of education and profits used to follow the
elections more often. The least interest to the elections
in the USA was shown by the Opposition block and
Radical party supporters.
• 39% of the polled Ukrainians sympathized Hillary
Clinton, every tenth – Donald Trump, 42% – did not
sympathize a single candidate. Among those who
followed the elections the Ukrainians’ preferences were
distributed as follows: 62% sympathized Clinton, 15% –
Trump.
• People with higher level of education and profits, more
often in cities, mostly in the West and Center of Ukraine
expressed sympathy for Clinton; meanwhile, in the East
and South, no sympathy was shown for any of the
candidates.
• The level of support for Clinton was relatively higher
among women, Trump – higher among men. Although,
in general, the majority of respondents of both genders
usually was inclined toward the Democrats’ candidate.
• Among the electorate of Ukrainian parties, Clinton was
more often supported by the electors of BPP Solidarnist,
Civic position, Svoboda, Hvylya (M.Saakashvili),
Batkivshchyna, and Samopomich. At the same time, the
supporters of the Opposition block were more likely to
give their sympathy to Trump.
• The relative majority (42%) does not expect any
changes in the relations between Ukraine and the
USA after the victory of Donald Trump in the elections of
the President of the United States of America. At the
same time, one-fourth thinks that relations will change
for worse. The Center and South of Ukraine expect the
worsening more than others. Only 7% of the polled
Ukrainians believe that relations are going to improve.
