the people that was fleeing of mongols, it is
based on one main road and all the building at
sides
3. Shangai History
● Prehistoric remains indicate that the area where is located the current Shanghai was habited
from the Neolithic through villages of fishermen and farmers.
● During the Han Dynasty (206 a. C. to 220 d. C.) is known that there was a small village and the
Tang (618-907) time zone existed in a village called Quilong.
● It is not until 1297d. C. when, for the importance of cotton textile industry, he officially became a
city.
● In 1553, during the Ming Dynasty, the small town was fortified to prevent attacks by Japanese
pirates. With the construction of the walls Shanghai really reached city status.
● In 1937, after the Battle of Shanghai, the city fell to the Japanese. This occupation lasted until
1945. During World War became a place of refuge for thousands of Europeans.
● With the triumph of the Chinese Revolution in 1949, many foreign businessmen moved their
business to Hong Kong. However, Shanghai regained its economic importance rapidly and
today is one of the industrial engines of China

centered on the coast of the East China Sea

category of municipality of direct control

● It is the most populated city in China and one of
the most populated in the world with over 20
million inhabitants

24,900,000 inhabitants.

● Shangai have a huge cuantities of lakes and
rivers.
● It have more than 700 products from the water.
● Shanghai is located at the mouth of the
Yangtze River which converge seawater and
freshwater.
● One of the most important product is the salt.
7. Infrastructures
● In the district of Pudong lot of buildings is like ,
the Jin Mao, the One Lujiazui International
Finance Centre etc. There are also large
projects under construction or not yet
constructed as the Shanghai Tower; the vast
majority are in a small space around the curved
section of the Huangpu Jiang.
