Q.1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcQStyIFFt0
•
Q.2 How does your media product represent particular social
groups?
•Our media product represents the social group of teenagers
•The girl that is running away is a typical teenage girl
•Wears everyday clothes, dressed casual, long hair
•She is from a white ethnic background, which is a stereotype of venerable
female characters in horror movies
•The colours that she wears shows she’s one of the regular girls, wears jeans,
trainers and jumper, regular clothes
•Rebecca’s character wears a grey coat, blue jeans and black shoes, these colours
are very dark, not girly showing a counter type of a teenage girl
•Rebecca’s character also wears black make-up, however its not heavy and
therefore this character doesn’t fall into the category of Goth's, and therefore is
just an outsider
•This character is dark, mysterious, scary, evil
•Stereotype of an outsider, why is she in the graveyard drawing?
Q.3What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
Q.4Who would be the audience for your media product?
•The audience for our media product will be teenagers, from the age of 15 and
over
•Firstly, as our main characters in the opening sequence are teenagers.
•By using a character the age of our target audience will ensure that our target
audience into seeing our media product as if they see a film that is advertised
with someone who looks there age, then they know it’s aimed at them
•Teenagers are more likely to understand key elements in the film, considering
the cast will be teenagers
•Teenagers may feel like they can relate to parts of the film
•Teenagers may understand individual characters, because they too are
• teenager and therefore will understand them more then may be older
audience members
Q.5 How did you attract/address your audience?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1OtmSslKp8
The questions asked in the video were; What did you like about the opening
sequence?
What did you dislike about the opening sequence?
Would you continue watching it?
What needs to be improved?
As you can see here, we uploaded our opening sequence toY
This is not a lot of views, but it is good that we have had som
The number may have gone up since then
There has been no comments or likes or dislikes, which is disa
I am happy we have had some sort of views, shows that peop
Q.6What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m4rj41FsKA
The camera we used to film was the Canon DSLR
We also used iMovie to edit our videos on
Q.7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
I feel that I have learnt how to record from a camera, professionally, especially
when it is placed on the tripod, as the camera is held in place
I have learnt how to hold a camera steadily, and slowly when capturing a good shot
In my preliminary task, I wasn’t the one who was filming
I have learnt that I work better when I’m filming rather than being the one filmed
I have also improved my editing skills because I have had to edit a few videos for
the blog
