1. Celebrating Giftedness, Creativity, Talent,
Awareness and Youth
paving the way for
The first
INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF
GIFTEDNESS AND CREATIVITY
2013
2.
3. Second week in August
Celebrated by a Blog-tour
Welcoming contributions from around the Globe
Will be a spring board for ideas to celebrate the launch of the International Year of
Giftedness and Creativity (IYGC), which will carry a an underlying thread/theme of
‘Stories’ and Story Sharing
Contributions should include/share suggestions and ideas of how
individuals/countries/cultures/schools/organisations/researchers/administrators/pra
ctitioners/ parents/ students might do this
over the next year in celebration of the IYGC.
Remember Stories can take many shapes and forms, hold an event or an activity and tell
the story of how it unfolded, share stories of good practice, Art- a painting that tells it’s
own story, or through music, the story of how an invention got built, a cultural story of
giftedness, the stories of our children, developing stories/literature for gifted students,
stories about creativity, creations and their creators, stories about gifted experiences...
Stories of gifted awareness event and how they came to be..
They could be expressed/delivered though many mediums such a video, audio,
written or drawn.
It is hoped that as these unfold/develop/take place during the coming year,, and are
share d with the World Council and the New Zealand Partners, that this years long
global festival of creating, celebrating, story making and telling, will become part of a
collection/archive which will ultimately be shared , showcased and celebrated
throughout the culminating event... ‘The Spirit of Giftedness’ World Conference in

65. A call out for information on awareness events went
out over various mediums over the last year.
The events in this presentation are those that were
made known to me
I am aware that there may be many more out there,
and welcome more information on any others that
should be added to this show, and am happy to
add them.
The purpose of the slide show is to show that there is
a growing number of gifted awareness events
world over- and we should never feel alone
