3. Friends Of The
Ridge (FOTR)
Have you ever been part of something
where you get to see first-hand God’s plan?
FOTR recently got another wonderful opportunity to
see God’s plan revealed to us through this ministry.
A few weeks ago, a couple handed FOTR a check to
help in anyway needed. That very next week, Blue
Ridge shared an unexpected need they had. Due to
budget cuts, they had to limit teachers to minimal
copies each day due to limited funds for copy paper.
THEN last week, Blue Ridge shared that their
classrooms where looking to replenish their reading
books to continue to create reading opportunities for
their students.
God already knew these needs, placed a specific dollar
amount on the hearts of this couple and FOTR was able
to use these funds (to the dollar) for the needed copy
paper & reading books for Blue Ridge!
God’s timing is perfect and it is amazing to see some
many lives touched by this specific gift of love!
FOTR was
immediately able to
step in and provided
the school with their
normal supply of
paper and filled that
gap with the funds
from this couple.
Purchased
books for each
classroom from
the school’s
book fair AND
place a note in
each book that
this gift was
from FOTR.

8. Esther 2:19-21 Mordecai Discovers a Plot
(page 1222)
19 Now when the virgins were gathered together the second time,
Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate. 20 Esther had not made
known her kindred or her people, as Mordecai had commanded her,
for Esther obeyed Mordecai just as when she was brought up by
him. 21 In those days, as Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate,
Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, who guarded the
threshold, became angry and sought to lay hands on King
Ahasuerus.
9. Ester 2:22-23 (page 1222)
22 And this came to the knowledge of Mordecai, and he
told it to Queen Esther, and Esther told the king in the
name of Mordecai. 23 When the affair was investigated
and found to be so, the men were both hanged on the
gallows. And it was recorded in the book of the
chronicles in the presence of the king.
10. Esther 6:1-3, The King Honors Mordecai
(page 1225)
1 On that night the king could not sleep. And he gave orders to bring
the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, and they were read
before the king. 2 And it was found written how Mordecai had told
about Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, who guarded
the threshold, and who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. 3
And the king said, “What honor or distinction has been bestowed on
Mordecai for this?” The king's young men who attended him said,
“Nothing has been done for him.”
11. Esther 6:4-6 (page 1225)
4 And the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just
entered the outer court of the king's palace to speak to the king
about having Mordecai hanged on the gallows that he had prepared
for him. 5 And the king's young men told him, “Haman is there,
standing in the court.” And the king said, “Let him come in.” 6 So
Haman came in, and the king said to him, “What should be done to
the man whom the king delights to honor?” And Haman said to
himself, “Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?”
12. Ester 6:7-9 (page 1226)
7 And Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king
delights to honor, 8 let royal robes be brought, which the king has
worn, and the horse that the king has ridden, and on whose head a
royal crown is set. 9 And let the robes and the horse be handed over
to one of the king's most noble officials. Let them dress the man
whom the king delights to honor, and let them lead him on the
horse through the square of the city, proclaiming before him: ‘Thus
shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor.’”
13. Esther 6:10-12 (Page 1226)
10 Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry; take the robes and the
horse, as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at
the king's gate. Leave out nothing that you have mentioned.” 11 So
Haman took the robes and the horse, and he dressed Mordecai and
led him through the square of the city, proclaiming before him,
“Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to
honor.”12 Then Mordecai returned to the king's gate. But Haman
hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered.
14. Esther 6:13-14 (Page 1226)
13 And Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything
that had happened to him. Then his wise men and his wife
Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun
to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not overcome him but will
surely fall before him.”
Esther Reveals Haman's Plot 14 While they were yet talking with
him, the king's eunuchs arrived and hurried to bring Haman to
the feast that Esther had prepared.

19. Lesson Objective:
At the conclusion of this lesson students will be
able to identify the ways that God protects His
disobedient people even while they live in
captivity.
20. Key Truths
• God positions certain people in certain places to intervene for the good
of others.
• Though the name of God isn’t mentioned in the book of Esther, the
author of Esther discerns the fingerprints of God throughout her story.
• God intervenes in the most unusual ways during the most desperate times
in the lives of His people to demonstrate His sovereignty and faithfulness.
