Gen2015 is about striving to be bigger and better. It is about being purposeful, driven and collaborative as a network so we are able to provide more experiences to young people around the world.
Do you remember your first times? Any of them? The first time you went to the beach and watched the sun set before you. Do you remember feeling the cool breeze ruffling your hair, the sun gently kissing your skin, the coolness of waves enveloping your feet just enough to tickle your ankles? Do you remember staring out into the horizon, watching nature paint itself – turning from a light yellow hue into an orange that’s not quite red, and then mellowing into a blend of blue and lilac before it all faded away into the darkness of the night? Do you remember how the experience took your breath away and rendered you speechless? Do you remember how much it felt like a gift to be able to have experienced it? Now, take yourself to the future and look back – do you remember that time we proved that we weren’t crazy? The time they thought there was no way we could but we did. Do you remember those days you stood at a stall for 5 hours straight, striking up a conversation with anyone who would give you a minute about a world we envision? Do you remember those times you yourself thought you couldn’t and you rang up the person you know will pick up the phone and will listen to you rant and help you through it all even if it’s 3 in the morning? Do you remember those nights when you went out for a drink but came home with an epiphany after conversing with an unexpected person to the wee hours of the morning? Do you remember the blood, sweat and tears you invested in this – we all invested in this vision of 1 million? And now, looking back from here – this euphoria of having achieved it – made this victory all the more sweet for all of us because we owned it, we believed it and then, we made it happen.
