What to do you think of the AIESEC vision and BHAG? - “To engage and develop every young person in the world.”What is your personal BHAGShe then proceeded to ask me what I thought of AIESEC values and I replied that I believe AIESEC is really a platform that unites and creates youth with a passion for change. I told her about my passion for and views towards youth leadership and how I personally have always wanted to become someone that can inspire others to make the most of their youth and realise their potential to positively impact on this world. I pointed out historical moments where youths were the spark for change and therefore it is important that youths realise what they are capable. Midway telling Jojo this I understood that I do believe that AIESEC is place where this can become possible and that my own values are more aligned that AIESEC’s than I realised. Sure we filled out our platforms about our values and what AIESEC is to us but I don’t believe I actually connected the dots or realised what I was writing then.
I’m fortunate in that from a young age, I was brought up to recognise that I could do differently. That I possessed the potential and capability to create change. What I want though, is for other people to realise this. That’s why I’m dedicated to helping 1 million people realise and utilise their capability to make a positive change. So how does this tie into AIESEC? It’s simple really, it’s because I know how AIESEC is relevant to me and my personal goals. What better way is it to reach that 1 million than through a student and youth run organisation that focuses on leadership development? My personal BHAG is a big reason why I’ve done so many things both inside and outside of AIESEC, including step up for LCP at AIESEC UTS.
Personal BHAG is why I ran for LCP
