2. ECONOMIC SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY
IRI SURVEY
On average, 76.4 % of respondents believe
that the economic situation in Ukraine has
deteriorated over the past 12 months.
REPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT 2016
• GDP increased by 2.3 %.
• Inflation growth rates decreased to 12.4 %.
• The level of the shadow economy decreased by 5
pp.
• The development of all FTA accelerated:
- agriculture (by 6.1 %),
- industry (by 2,4 %),
- construction (by 13,1 %),
- trade (by 4 %).

11. CONCLUSIONS
Residents assess the development of their cities much broader
than the purely economic aspect.
Important factors are:
- Quality of service and services in the city;
- Security;
- Openness of authority;
- Opportunity to join the decision-making process in the city.

12. RECOMMENDATIONS
TO LOCAL AUTHORITIES
• Develop indicators of community
success, including indicators
sensitive for society
• Consolidate residents around the
common tasks of community
development
• Ensure effective communication on
the progress of reforms, local
budgets and urban development
plans
TO PARLIAMENT AND GOVERNMENT
• To create a professional independent
statistical system
• Include in the monitoring of the
development of the regions indicators
that are important to people and take
them into account in the development
of regional policies
• Provide clarification and dissemination
of statistical information and the
results of reforms
