TRADITIONAL LABANESE DETAILS
Assigned to create the interiors of the Chiara cinema that contain the traditional Lebanese Liwan for the
horizontal wooden panels and the Horseshoe Arcade on the vertical wooden panels for it to be made on vinyl.
The drawings were created on AutoCad and approved.
Mr Rabih (Architectural Design Manager) gave me a learning insight of the traditional Lebanese house planning
from the book “Architecture in Lebanon” by Friedrich Ragette.

and the Liwan that is being incorporated
onto the horizontal panels of the pavilion.

Project name: AL ZORAH GOLF CLUBHOUSE, Ajman, UAE
Project Description:
Located within the natural preserved environment of native sandy area mangroves, the Golf Community is
made up of residential neighborhoods and an 18-hole golf course, by Nicklaus Design and operated by
Switzerland based Troon Golf, the world’s leading high-end golf development company. The community also

AL ZORAH GOLF CLUBHOUSE
Assignment methodology: Analyzing and editing AutoCAD DWGs, Model Making, client meeting
and client presentations attended.
Assignment Description: I was given the assignment to analyze and design the details of the front
façade of the golf clubhouse and create a scaled model for presentation of the proposed design.
Front façade of the club house
Scaled Model of the Clubhouse
Following is the visualization of the model making procedure of the front façade detail (1:25 scale)
Project completed
Duration: 5 days
The front façade details are of standing seams of 8 cm with polished
outlining having variations which recess with the flat sand blasted
stones placed at the base and around the standing seams all continuing
at an angle of 60 degrees over the roof as well as the base of the
façade giving a sense of continuity.
3D visualizations of the Clubhouse: (Analyzed and edited using 3ds Max, AutoCAD 3D and Photoshop Effect)
Visualization samples and detailed information about the standing seam on the façade:
Sample of the standing seam.
Measurement details are as follows:
• 3cm Thickness, 8cm Height and 30cm
Width
• There is a distance of 30cm difference
between each standing seam (having
glossy upper surface strip) and the
sand blasted stone which is laid
horizontally flat at the foot of the
standing seam.
Attended the client presentation by Merint on behalf of the French based company ‘Saint Gobain’ (one of
the worlds leading glass manufacturers) proposing for the exterior glass of the golf clubhouse.
From the presentation I acquired the knowledge on how to select a glass for the exterior of a structure
based on many different factors such as:
• Solar heat gain
• Light on solar Gain (LGS)
• Shading Coefficient
• Transmittance ( visible% and total solar energy%)
• Reflectance (visible light-outdoor% , visible light indoor% and total solar energy%)
• U value
• Absorptance (outdoor glass% and indoor glass%)
The selected glass for the Al Zorah Golf clubhouse was a 6 mm cool , SKN 144 double silver coated glass.
Client Presentaion:
Al Zorah Site Visit:
Excavation is initiated at the site as well as the tracks for the carts. Site is located near the long strip of sandy mangroves of Ajman.
