The document outlines props needed for a music video that will have both a performance and narrative component. It discusses using instruments, a microphone, and a bench or table for scenes showing the band performing and two characters conversing. It also mentions using an iPhone 4, analogue phone, and fixie bikes to portray the hipster indie style of the characters for the narrative parts of the video.
2. Instruments- drums, guitar, bass- we are
using the instruments to make the music
video look more realistic. In our
performance we are doing half performance
based and half narrative based video so
when we are focusing on the performance
side we want to make it look as realistic as
possible, as if they are performing.
3. Microphone- the singer(s) will have a
microphone; this is used to again make the
performance look realistic but to also ensure
their voices are projected.
4. Bench/table- in the narrative side of our performance we
want somewhere where the 2 characters can sit and look
as if they are having a conversation; this is trying to
create a romantic feel to the scene. We thought we could
possibly use a bench near a river or open space so there is
not many people around so we focus on them 2
characters. Alternatively we thought about them sitting
at a table maybe in a café as we feel this would represent
a hipster indie place.
5. Phone- in our narrative side of our performance we
will see one of the characters use their phone and
the most used phone by hipster indies is an iPhone
4 so this what we will use to have a clear
representation. If we considered having a shot in
their home we would have a analogue phone in the
room as this is the phone which they would
normally have in their house.
6. Bike- fixie bikes are something which a lot of
hipster indies use. This is something which
we could consider using as it gives a clear
representation of what style we want to
portray and also show one of their interests
to make the scene feel natural.
