The document discusses the challenges and lessons learned from completing a media production project. It summarizes:
The author struggled with deadlines, using new software, and adjusting to a new work environment. To overcome this, they created a schedule to ensure tasks were completed on time and received help from a group member to learn the software.
The group added a third member to help with planning and management. Research and planning helped ensure the project stayed on track and looked professional by emulating real media products.
Creating a longer film required more planning, shots, research, and workload compared to the preliminary task. Working in a group allowed for shared workload, multiple perspectives, and efficient division of filming tasks.

what i learn compared to the prelim task
1. What have you learnt to
the progression from it to
the final product?
2. What I struggled with in the
prelim task
Deadlines
Getting used to a new working environment as I had never
done media before
Using new software
Planning process, Storyboards
3. How I overcame these in the
main task
Making sure I made a planned schedule of deadlines and
blog posts which ensured all tasks were completed
Getting help off a fellow group member allowed me to
understand the software, for example, Final Cut Pro X
I got used to the environment from the prelim task
4. Groups
We decided to mainly keep the group the same as we
both had expertise in each area of the task
However, we realized that with their being a longer
product and more heavy workload we added a group
member to relieve the stress and pressure off us
The member we added also is very good at planning and
management which Is something the original group lacked
5. Importance of research and
planning
Research and planning made everything very clear in
what we had to do
It ensured that we didn't’t go off on a tangent and made
clear when it came to the filming that we knew exactly
what we had to do
It also allowed our product to look professional as in the
research and planning we looked at real media products
so it allowed us to make our films similar to the techniques
we learnt from those films
6. What was different about
making a long film?
It was more work heavy and a lot more shots had to be
explored to make it visually interesting
More planning had to be done because obviously there
was more to the film
More research and comparisons had to be done to real
media products to learn techniques
7. Benefits of working in a group
It meant that the thought process of the final product
would be good as their was 3 minds on the task
It meant that the workload could be shared
When filming we could be assigned to individual tasks
which made the process more efficient
8. What I physically learn about
myself
I found that I struggle with deadlines as they were very
tight which was all a new experience for me
I found that I work well in a group and contribute good
ideas
I found that I can pick up a task quickly and get on with it
rather than questioning, I feel that I was quite mature in
the task
9. What would I change if I did it
again
I would make sure that deadlines were planned more
sufficiently
I would make sure that we had more time to film as it
came as a bit of a rush
I would make sure I varied the types of blog posts I did to
make it more visually interesting
