Needs Assessment:

o Professionals who are expected to deliver PowerPoint
presentations are at a loss to the guidelines of what constitutes
an effective and visually pleasing PowerPoint presentation.
o In general, people are fearful of speaking publicly and they are
also afraid of technology; therefore, when they are faced with
the challenge of presenting they resort to their outdated
methods that may not be very effective. There is a barrage of
guidelines about effective powerpoint presentations available
online and in print; however, it is difficult for a student or
professional to decipher through the mass. This becomes
difficult because the guidelines are subjective and there is no
consensus on which guidelines should be followed.
o The recommended solution is that we will provide a simple
rubric with guidelines for efffective powerpoint presentations
that will not be overwhelming for those individuals who need to
                       develop a powerpoint presentation.
           o Objective # 1
o Condition (CN): After carefully examining the rubric for effective
                powerpoint presentation
o Behavior (B): The student will be able to recognize effective and
                ineffective slides for powerpoint presentations.
o Criteria (CR): What is the degree of accuracy the learners need to
                accom Objective # 1

choice questions as to the effectiveness of powerpoint presentations.

choice questions as what, in general, constitutes an effective

is answering four out of five questions correctly.

Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Describe how you will evaluate the learner's
mastery of the concepts or processes addressed in your training module. You could
assign a written or computer-based test or quiz or the development of a final
project or product. When developing your assessments, ask yourself, "How can I
determine whether or not the learners have learned the material?" Use the
following table to align your assessments with your performance objectives.
