Think of social media as like the invention of email or the telephone – it is a tool – a very powerful one – for communicating on an individual and a mass scale

Web 1.0 to Web 2.0
Web 1.0 – ‘if we build it, they will come’
Web 2.0 – User generated content – everyone’s putting stuff on the internet
This means that organisations like ours need to ‘be everywhere’ rather than ‘being somewhere’
