2. • Before beginning finishing our storyboards the group and I had created
questionnaires which we would hand out to people and hopefully get
them completed properly, this was one of the main problems with target
market research and getting audience feedback is that we received less
than half the amount of questionnaires back that we handed out, this
might of caused the results we got to be strained and possibly unreliable
as the sample may not have been wide enough.
However from the few questionnaires we did get back we found out a lot
of interesting information about the target audience. After gathering and
comparing all the data we found that females were more interested in the
performance behind the video whereas men were heavily narrative based.
From our questionnaires we also gathered that our target market were
based around the ages of 16-22. We managed to gain this information by
asking simple questions including their age bracket and their favourite
genre of music. We then found out which age bracket listened to indie
music the most.
3. • Using the audience feedback sheets we can conclude that we should aim
our video towards the older teen to early 20’s we had to take this into
consideration during the later stages of storyboarding as well as the
information gained about women liking performance more than men.
We had to incorporate the information gained by including an equal
amount of both performances and narrative to keep both genders
entertained and engaged for the entire length of our music video. I feel
that during the production our video we have interlinked both the
narrative and the performances by making some of the narrative a
performance as well. This way we can keep both genders happy.
In conclusion I think the group has found the audience feedback to be a
very effective way of finding out what the target market would like to see
in the video. This helped us as we have included elements into the video
that otherwise might have not been used.
