BEBO arches are precast concrete component bridges that provide outstanding performance with relatively light concrete shell structures by capitalizing on soil-structure interaction between the reinforced concrete arch, foundations and the surrounding fill.
BEBO arches were developed in Switzerland and first installed in 1965. Today, BEBO arch installations have proved their value in numerous projects across Canada, with installations in place from Labrador through to the Western provinces. With span-to-rise ratios as low as 8:1 and standard spans ranging from 3.66m to 31m in three different geometric configurations, the versatility of the system makes it an attractive solution for a variety of scenarios.
