2. Our Idea
• Our Idea is a narrative story where a
man breaks up with his girlfriend and
goes into a forest to think and reflect
on what has just happened. He then
decides he has made a mistake and goes
to give her a flower but she is no where
to be seen.
• The reason we have chosen a romance
theme because simply it is a love song it
will suit the storyline and we can have a
lot of visuals matching lyrics in our
music video.
3. Setting
• We have looked at many music videos in the
genre of Indie folk music and we found from
watching a around 8 or 10 videos that all of
them had nature imagery in them.
• We also found out that ‘Heartbeats’ will suit
the nature imagery as the tempo of the song
is slow which will match the peaceful
ambiance of the forest.
• We have looked at a lot of possible locations
to shoot the video that were rural and quiet
and we finally decided to choose the Lookout
in Bracknell. The reason we chose this
location was because it is local and had the
5. Props
• ACOUSTIC GUITAR: We were thinking about having a
performance aspect to our music video so we
have got an acoustic guitar if we decide to put
this in.
• MOBILE PHONE: We also may have a the break up
over the mobile phone or text at the start of
the video which could help us as actors are
unreliable and only having one in the video
will be easier for us.
• FLOWER: The flower that we have chosen is not
going to fit into the surroundings of the forest
as it is going to be colourful.
6. Costume
• Our main actor who is going to be a
young male around the age of 18 – 25.
He is going to be wearing casual
clothes which are not brightly
coloured. We have decided this
because from watching the music
videos we saw that the actors were
wearing no flashy jewellery or
accessories and just a plain t shirt
and jeans.
7. Weather
• We want it to be sunny in our music
video but it would not matter that
it was cold and cloudy as it would
suit the storyline of a break up.
