ACM, in partnership with the Swiss
Foundation for Sustainable Mountain
Development (FDDM), has announced
for the third time the SMArt
Photography Residency Program,
which aims to expand international
cooperation and to contribute to
the environmental awareness and
to the local development through
photography. The SMArt Residency
Program invites artists from Africa,
Asia, and South America to a three-
month workshop that provides an
opportunity to address environmental
issues in the mountain regions.
B.Byamba, a photographer from
Xac Photo Studio, was selected from
eight artists, who submitted their ma
terials to this year's program. Between
June-September 2020, he will be
staying in the village of Val Poschiavo,
Switzerland (www.valposchiavo.ch) to
exchange experience with international
photographers and present his photo
exhibition.
A Mongolian edition of SMArt
program started in 2014, selec
ting B.Maralgua as the first artist in
residency and organized her exhibition
“Mountain Myth” in 2015 both in
Switzerland and Mongolia.
The second edition of the SMArt
program, supported by the Swiss
Development Agency, funded the
project and provided B.Tamir with the
three months artist residency in Valais,
Switzerland. Photographer B.Tamir
presented his joint photo exhibition in
Switzerland and first solo exhibition
“SHADOW ON US” at MN 17 Art
Gallery in 2018.
With support from the

character through professional
development grants to early-
career Mongolian artists.
The Fellowship Award
aims to help Mongolian artists
develop the opportunity to grow
professionally and personally by
realizing their projects locally.
ACM announced an open call
between February 2020 and
