2. This is the address of where the Pool hall is. Korea town Los Angeles CA
3. This is the shopping center where the pool hall is located (2nd story). Every store in the shopping
center is Korean. Everybody in the shopping center is Korean (except me).
4. This pool hall was like any other pool hall except it has a big crowd of Korean people. I don’t know if pool is a popular pass time in
Korea but the Koreans in Los Angeles sure love to play pool. I like to play pool to, whenever I have some time to kill. This place
was very organized and clean. ( and you can smoke inside) ((Koreans smoke like chimneys!))
5. I tried to make conversation with 2 guys that were playing at the table next to me but they didn’t seem to understand engrish very
well…..they were smoking and communicating with each other but not making any eye contact with anybody else. Witch made
doing this project very fun because people there were more than happy to help you. (sarcasm) Even the employees didn’t
understand english he only speaked engrish. I asked him if he had any water for sale he tells me his bathroom is out of service.
6. Only men play at this place. The only reason I called it this place is because the business name was written in Korean and nobody
inside spoke English. There was no females present at the time I was there witch kind of made me think these guys are not here
playing for fun. Although I do remember somebody laughing. The crowd was the same crowd for about 2 hours. Non stop
smoking, non stop billiards, and non stop smoking. (and nobody really cared about a really random person taking pictures of
them.
7. The pool hall had many tables to play on. Tables with pockets to play regular pool, and tables with four edges that’s played with 3 balls only.
There was 3 regular pocket tables and the rest were tables without any pockets. I was the only person on the pocket table because that’s the
only game I know how to play. 15 balls not in numerical order and the 8 ball for last(black ball). The game you play with 3 balls is about
strategy and skill. Not that 8 ball pool is not, instead for the 3 ball there are no pockets on the table. So basically you have to hit the cue
ball(white ball) in such a way that it should touch atleast 3 sides of the pool table before hitting the other 2 balls in play. (not easy)
8. It was really hard for me to understand the vibe of this place because everybody there was korean. I was asking people if they can explain the
game they were playing to me but nobody could understand what I was saying. So I just took a seat and tried to visually examine the scene
and I noticed that everybody was serious when it came to playing this game. Nobody seemed to look around try to see whats going on at the
other side of the place. Everyones focus was on there own table and game. It seemed to me they were playing wager matches at first because
of the seriousness but I didn’t see any money being excahnged or what not. It was a prety weird place.
9. On the other hand I tried a Korean soup made with beef, noodles, raw onions green and white, and beef broth. I asked a waiter
whats the most popular soup you guys have he tells me his bathroom is broken to (jk). And I ended up with this dish here witch
tasted decent with the jalapenos and lime.
