2. . The main focus of my trailer is on my one character, Eryn and the fact that she’s alone in the world.
Because of this, conventions such as ‘strong social interaction’ will have to be eliminated as there are no
other characters within the trailer for Eryn to interact with. However, it could be said that because Eryn
addresses the audience throughout the entirety of the trailer, her ‘strong interaction’ is with the audience.
. The idea that there is a ‘loss of equilibrium’ is definitely a convention I will be conforming to as the trailer
begins at exactly this point. Eryn is introduced during her realisation that she is sad and alone. The
‘restoring of equilibrium’ however, will not be something explored in the trailer. Although, it may be a
dramatic convention seen within a full length movie of my trailer.
. The quote the ‘heart of drama is conflict’ is an idea that will be addresses completely, as the conflict that
Eryn faces is both internal (as she struggles to accept the loss of her friends and family) and external (as
she struggles to find other people left in the world).
. I would argue that my main character would be relatable as I am thinking to choose an ‘older’ teenager to
play my protagonist as I feel that this will mean she will be relatable to both a younger and older audience.
Eryn’s reaction to the loss of her family would also be a reaction that would typically be expected to be
seen by someone, after some time, in a similar situation (I assume).
. I feel as though my trailer would move my audience emotionally as they would hopefully sympathise for
her as she is directly telling the audience her story, forming a connection.
