Muslims refutation to this Biblical claim :Muslims refutation to this Biblical claim :
 The phrase “ your only son” is significantly problematic to be referring to Isaac,
because both he and Ishmael outlived their father Abraham.
 Therefore it is only for Ishmael that this phrase “the only son” could ever be used
at one time, and never for Isaac.
 The sacrifice would be most significant at the time when he had only one son.
Christians would insist it was Isaac and would quote this verse:

Muslims response to this Biblical narration regarding IshmaelMuslims response to this Biblical narration regarding Ishmael
 Abraham was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael while Isaac was borne
to him when he was one hundred years old – thus, 14 years apart.
 Therefore this narration could not have happened after Isaac was born because if it
were so, then the term “she placed the boy under one of the shrub”(Genesis: 21: 14)
would be ridiculous. He should rather be helping his mother.
