WELCOME TO OUR LAST CHAT SESSION
Let us have a brief discussion of your PLLP
- The importance of the timeline
- End of the Course Reflection
- End of the Course Action Plan
PROBLEM SEEKERS VS
PROBLEM SOLVERS
-How did you identify your visual,
auditory and kinaesthetic learners?
- What instrument did you use?
Teacher Gumawan and Sarah are facilitators and
delegators or student centered.
Are you always like Teacher Gumawan and
Teacher Sarah, that is, are you like them all the
time?
But do not expect immediate results or do not
expect that the students can give you
immediately what is expected of them in the
lesson if you do or use student-centered
approach. The process is quite long compared
to that of a teacher centered-approach. Do you
think this is why some teachers do not prefer
the student-centered approach?
-Our module gives a list of strategies to
adopt to address the different types of learners.
- Please check which of these are you
doing and have not done yet in your class.
-Do you think you can adopt those which
you have not tried yet in your class?
How can you prevent that from happening in
your class happened in the class of Mrs
Armida?
Do you think what happened in Mrs Armida's
class can be prevented by engaging the
students to use their Higher Order Thinking
Skills or their Critical Thinking? Have your tried
it?
 Have you checked the strategies for
integrating higher order thinking skills in the
instruction process, that is, aside from asking
HOTS questions?
 What are the strategies which you have tried
and how did it go?
 Which have you not tried? Why?
You know the meaning of HOTS and now
additional knowledge as well about the
strategies of integrating them in the instruction
process to develop critical thinking.
Can your students answer your HOTS
questions? If not, why do you think so? Is
language the barrier?
I could surmise that the reasons why students can
not answer HOTS questions could be due to the
following:
1. They are not used to HOTS questions (implying
that teachers do not often ask HOTS questions.
2. Language problem; can not express in English
(that is why we have MTB in the lower grades)
3. The have poor reading skills; many are not
independent readers.
 Please be guided by the Revised Bloom's
Taxonomy of Learning Objectives as your
guide
in asking HOTS questions.
1. Critical Thinking and Reasoning
2. Collaboration and Communication and
3. Ceativity.
These are the skills needed by our students to
meet the challenges of the 21st century.
To what extent have we developed them?
-We were done discussing our role as a subject
matter expert, our role as a facilitator of
learning.
-Next topic - Teacher’s role as a classroom
manager
- Why is it important for us teachers to
manage our classroom well? What are your tools
in classroom management?
What are the emerging technology or varied
platforms used for instruction?
Share what you have used or have not used?
Discuss why did you not use these
technologies.
Can you do what Mrs Premala did in her class?
If yes, share how you did it and if no, discuss
why.
 Discuss the different strategies for
promoting students’ participation and
collaboration in classroom activities
 Which of these strategies have you applied
already ? Not tied yet and why?
 Dead Time Zone
(How to prevent dead time zone?
 Overt Engagement
 Covert Engagement
1) it is a natural social process,
2) knowledge is the property of the group,
3) it is a dynamic learning community and
4) it fosters critical openness.
If you miss one of these in your instructional
process then do not say you are using
collaborative approach of learning.
Which of the 4 elements is difficult to do by
your student when they do group work?
 Reflect on the case of Mr. Budiarto.
 Have you experienced what Mr Budiarto
experienced at any point in your life or career
as a teacher?
 If yes, can you recall what happened and is it
okay to share it with the class?
And personally, my advice to you in order to
improve your written and oral communication is
to embrace my advocacy on READING. You read
and read and read then write and write and
write. As teachers we are expected to
communicate well either orally or in writing to
our stakeholders
Let us have a “peep” in the classroom of Mr.
Argu, Mrs. Solomon, Ms. Chan and Mr. Kulwant.
Whose classroom do you think have maximized
the engagement of the students to learn. Why?
What happened to the first day of school of Mr.
Joko ?
Did it happen to you also?
Who helped you when your day or days went
wrong?
Did somebody help or mentor you on how to be
effective classroom manager?
 What is contextual teaching?
 Do you teach contextually?
 Please share your experience in contextual
teaching.
-Please be reminded too that your Assignment
#2 has three parts namely;
1) PDP
2) class demonstration (type the link) . Do not
make your video PRIVATE and
3) your CMP.
Submit it as one file only.
If one is missing then you will not be graded.
THANK YOU AND GOD
BLESS EVERYONE
