3. I am extremely pleased with the overall outcome of our trailer. The think that I think we did the best
was targeting audience. From the beginning, before we had even written the synopsis, we all decided
that we would target the 16-25 age bracket. Not only was this because we belong to it so felt that we
would do a better job at targeting it but today this is that age that spend the most on films and
cinema to it was almost as if we were guaranteed some profit.
Additionally in terms of the editing techniques used they look extreme professional like that of a
professional media production product. We though carefully about the different angles and what the
effect would be and whether they could portray the story correctly helping the audience to establish
the different characters and their roles.
We learnt so much as film school and that enables us to get the best possible outcome. We made sure that we tackled a topic
which a lot of young people would be familiar with- knife crime. This not only helps with personal identity but shows that our
product is current.
Our film was given a 15 because we felt that although there was a lot of violence it was not too graphic to show an audience
of this age. We did consider making it an 18 but that would restrict a large amount of potential audiences from watching our
film. Our trailer has been the basis of our film campaign and the largest promotional tool.
You could share the trailer almost about everywhere on different social networking site such as Facebook and twitter, YouTube
(ideally we would want it to be shown on channels: MTV, channel 4 franchise). I found that posting the video on peoples
Facebook walls spread the message because if they likes it they would share it starting a chain reaction and getting a larger
audience additionally others would be curious to see what it was.
5. The poster is something which allows us to
use both digital and print media. Using
the poster the public are able to
establish the characters and setting of
the film. Before even seeing the trailer we
hoped that people would be able to
recognise the genre of the film. I kept
with the theme of dark and dull colours
and low saturation this is because these
are the colours which are directly
associated with Horror. We wanted the
key information to stand out such as the
title which boldly runs across the mid
bottom of the page so that people
wanting to do any research the film
would know where to find it, which links
with the web address which runs across
the bottom of the page is in red so even
though its small- it stand out because it
among the cool tones so for this reason
we didn't need to make the font too big.
I thought that I would be good to go into
detail and talk about all of the different
parts that make up the film poster.
6. I decided to add the rating because
as soon as people see that it quite
high they will be more willing to
We also used mise en scene when it check out the website (which
comes to the characters. In the media appears on the bottom of the page

hooded jumpers getting into a lot of
trouble which I why we decided to
channel this in our own production
because we know that the audience
would be very familiar with it.
We used a very cleaver layout on the
film poster. Although as you can see
that our eyes are drawn to the
almost glowing film title running
across the middle of the page. these

8. We used the magazine to promote our trailer which, we
wanted the audience to become familiar with the masked
figure in the film and trailer which is why we repeated
this images in various different products. By the look of
the magazine you can tell this its main focus if makes.
This is due to the colours and fonts that we used. We
went with those because magazines such as Empire are
similarly aimed at males and so we wanted to target an
already existing audience rather then taking a risk.
Bearing in mind that I was targeting this specific audience
I had to adjust the colour scheme to make it fit. This is
why I used the primary colours because they are basic
and this is what would appeal the mist/ additional I chose
block capital font to avoid it from looking feminine. As
well as using the magazine to promote our own film we
made sure to use movies which are currently in the
cinema at the moment. This is because we wanted to
show that we are current and people who may have
already seen the films on the cover will want to check
ours out because they are appearing in the same
magazine. Furthermore the fact that our film is the main
feature of the magazine means that its giving positive
feedback.
9. By putting it in yellow it stands
out and people like to buy
magazines that come with
freebies so it’s as if they are
getting a good value for their
money.
We chose to include film
which target a similar
audience
I made sure to include blood so that
people that this issue was all about
horror and people connote blood with
horror and more specifically slasher
horror.
Other then the magazine title the movie title is
the biggest font on the screen so the audience
are drawn into it and they become aware that
this is the main feature. The name of the film
makes you want to read about it because you
begging to ask questions such as ‘who has
disappeared’ which would make you want to
read more into it
