Presentation by Andreas Schleicher Tackling the School Absenteeism Crisis 30 ...
Welcome to my class!
1.
2. WELCOME!
My name is Ms. Quitugua, and I will be your 2013-2014 4th
grade school teacher! I thought that maybe I could share
with you a couple of things about me. I don’t like to yell,
and only yell when I absolutely have to. I am not a very
strict teacher, but I expect the very best from you this
year! I will be your only teacher this year. There will be no
switching classes. Just me, I will be teaching math,
science, reading, writing, and social studies. I hope that
you enjoy your time in my class this year, and I am
looking forward to a great school year!
3. RULES
Now, I may have said that I am not a strict teacher, but, I do
have some rules –
1. No talking, when somebody else is talking
2. No disturbing the class when we are doing work
3. Always follow directions
4. Mind your manners
5. Have Fun! You’re only in 4th grade once!
4. CLASS JOBS
In order to keep our class room nice and tidy, we have to
have class jobs of course! After this presentation I will
share a list of jobs, and every single person will have a
job. We will switch every other week, so everybody will
have a chance to do every job this year. After the 2 weeks
is over, if you did your job, you will be able to choose a
piece of candy!
5. ATTENDANCE
Every morning, you have find your popsicle stick, and put it
in the present container. There is also a job for the person
who takes attendance. They have to tell me whoever’s
popsicle stick is still in the bucket.
6. CLASS DOJO
I do keep track of your behavior, using class dojo. Each and
everyone of you have a monster, and I will either give you
positive points or negative points. For example, if you
have your classwork in on time, you get a positive point.
If you don’t have your homework, you get a negative
point. Every time you get 10 points, you will get to choose
a piece of candy!
7. CLOSING
Now that you have learned all of the things that go on in my
classroom, it’s time to get this year started! I hope that all
of you behave this year, and do not misbehave! I am
looking forward to a great school year!
