2. During the Trip Checklist - Safety
• For children
• Wear identification tag
• Inform and show them to the teacher-in-charge and parent volunteer
• For parent volunteers and staff
• Brief on trip route and safety instructions
• Constant headcount and lookout for children
• Look out for potential hazards

• Wash/ Sanitise their hands before snack break
• For parent volunteers and staff
• Check temperatures for all <37.5 degrees celcius
• Check children’s well-being at various stations
• Remind children to drink water

Experiences
• For children
• Children are organized into 4-5 pax per group
• Each has a chance to interact with the displays by turn-taking
• Each has a reference booklet to guide them
• For parent volunteers and staff
• Facilitate learning experiences
• Use teachable moments

5. Activity 1: Shapes and Equipment
• What is shaped like a flower petal?
• What is long, flat at one end and rounded at the other?
• What has shapes of rectangles and triangles?
• Name the colour/s of the spheres found?
• What is cylindrical in shape and has concentric circles on it?
• Objectives:
• Identify at least two 3-D shapes.
• Match the components to the descriptors.
• Name all the components found near the door entrance.

6. Activity 2: Lengths
• Anti-clockwise direction:
• Landing Ship Tank
• Littoral Mission Vessel
• Frigate
• Missile Covette
• Submarine
• Objectives:
• Match, measure and record the lengths of the models in
multi-links.
• Write down the shortest and longest ship length in Republic of
Singapore Navy.

7. Activity 3: RSS Panglima
• Panglima means “commander of the body of troops”.
• RSS Panglima was commissioned in 1966 and decommissioned in 1991.
• RSS Panglima had 36 service years.
• RSS Panglima is the name of the current Changi Naval Training Base.
• Objectives:
• Identify the main components of the 1st station on RSS
Panglima.
• Describe the meaning of the word “Panglima”
• Describe when RSS Panglima is commissioned and
decommissiond, numbe of service years and its current use of
the name.

8. Activity 4: Weapons – Big Guns and Small
Arms
• From Left Bofors 40mm, M1 Garand, L1A1 self-loading rifle, Itaca 37
• (Need to consider outdoor A Guns too)
• Objectives:
• Compare and record the weight of the small guns
• Compare and record the calibre of the big gun and small
arms displayed

9. Activity 5: Missile Gunboat
• Panglima means “commander of the body of troops”.
• RSS Panglima was commissioned in 1966 and
decommissioned in 1991.
• RSS Panglima had 36 service years.
• RSS Panglima is the name of the current Changi Naval
Training Base.
• Objectives:
• Identify the main components of the 1st station
on Missile gunboat
• Identify parts of the ships i.e. mess, bridge,
engine room and Bofors.

10. Activity 6: Ropework
• Objectives:
• Describe Bends and Hitches.
• Demonstrate how cheesing is done and when it is used.
• Demonstrate how to tie a Figure of Eight.

11. Activity 7: State of Readiness
• Objectives:
• List down the names of the 4 types of stations.
• Identify the announcement in relation to the 4 types of stations.
• Describe the state of readiness for each of the stations

12. Health and Hygiene Matters
Galley: Snack Break and complete activity sheets Heads: Toilet Break
• Objectives:
• Name the words use for “toilets” and “kitchen”
• Write down at least one thing they like about the visit.
Possible souvenirs at museum shop
