This presentation gives a very brief outline of the rationale of this course proposal.

2. Course Design
 Teacher-directed portions of the class will
be viewed on StarBoards through use of the
Elluminate program.
 Independent activities will be done through
the use of district provided netbooks.
 Students will share their examples and
works by synching district provided iPod
Touches.

3. Rationale for Course
 Figurative language is a difficult concept for
students. PSSA scores are typically lower in this
area.
 Students have already received homeroom
instruction on these concepts. This course is more
of a review.
 Students are exploring the idea behind presenting
and sharing their work with a variety of users and
receiving feedback from multiple perspectives.
