Xavier School of Communications or XCOMM is born with a vision to enhance

 Fr. Paul Fernandes SJ, Vice Chancellor of Xavier University Bhubaneswar and
Director of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar & Fr. LourdurajIgnacimuthu
SJ, Director of Xavier Institute of Communications, and Lievens’ Institute of Film &
Electronic media, Ranchi collectively conceived this state-of-the art professional media
school at Xavier University Bhubaneswar.
The mission is to give aspiring students across the country an opportunity to pursue
professional courses in mass media and making them employable. Inspired by the
Jesuit ethos of community building via education, this dream of starting a school of
communications took shape eventually and soon translated into reality
XCOMM was inaugurated by ArchitaSahoo (Odia Film Actress) and Amitabh Shukla
(Film Editor) on July 2, 2015.

4. IN HOUSE PRODUCTION FACILITIES
 TV Studio: The TV studio is HD enabled and it’s completely digital. We use
Panasonic four P2HD cameras and three Panasonic 103C for the production
courses.
 Audio Studios: Audio is an important element in production. We use two sound
editing and recording software namely Pro Tools and Studio
Edit Suites & Design Workstations: The floor also has a master Edit Suite. It
has the latest cylindrical Apple MacPro with FCP and professional sound monitors.
 Professional lights: The studio floor uses multi-20, multi-10, cool lights with 4
banks, 3 banks, and 2 banks. The studio also uses professional LED lights with
DMX controller, which could change the colors or mix colors at a given time.
 XCOMM Still Photography section has a Digital Still Photography Room with
Elinchrom 200 (strobe lights), Backdrop Kit and other lights required for indoor
digital photography.
