1. Day 2 ASSURE
Students will be in the first grade with previous knowledge of counting
numbers and patterns. The classroom will consist of 16 students, 9 girls
and 7 boys, 2 with ADHD, and 1 with autism. Students will have a
previous knowledge of counting, addition and subtraction, completing
word problems in math, as well as a basic knowledge on how to make arts
and bots from previous class activities.
Students will learn more basic information about the faces of our currency,
and various facts about why they are featured on our currency. They will
then use Facebook to learn about the Federal Reserve System. Last, they
will follow the Treasury Department on Twitter. By doing this students
will further understand about our currency and some aspects of our
economy.
They will be using a computer lab for research as well as to watch a video
and interact with a Voki.
These mediums will allow the students to use critical thinking to apply
their knowledge to the final day of the lesson in their own shops.
These materials will be available online and students will be asked to
study these materials for their final projects based learning activity.
